PTSA Meeting, Tuesday night at 7:00 pm in the Library The agenda includes voting on officers for the year, approval of the budget and plans for the year ahead. All are welcome but you must be a member to vote. If you have ideas for programs for the year, questions or want to figure out how to get involved, please come. If you have topics for the agenda, please email davinciptsa@gmail.com. There are several committee spots still open.
PTSA Membership Please support da Vinci by joining our school PTSA! The fee is $20 each and forms are available in the office. We count on membership funds to support all we do at da Vinci. So far, we have just 42 members signed up and we would love to reach or break our goal of 150 members.
Link da Vinci PTSA to your Fred Meyer Rewards through the Fred Meyer Community Rewards Program: The Program donates cash every time you use your FM Rewards Card. Please click here. This program can earn our PTSA thousands of dollars and it costs you NOTHING. Once you sign in or create a new account, click on "re-enroll or link your Rewards Card now" and search for "da Vinci PTSA" or use our new code: SI414. It's easy!
Password Changes for your student accounts Before school started this year the PPS IT Department changed all student passwords district-wide. Students use their individual accounts to access Synergy StudentVUE, Destiny, Google Apps for Education and for logging onto all building Chromebooks and desktop computers.
If your student hasn’t already changed their password this year, please go to password.pps.net  as soon as possible and help them reset their password to a unique, personalized password.
password.pps.net
You may continue, but some web pages may work incorrectly. To continue, click Ignore.

To begin the process they will need to know their student I.D. number (6 digits) and their username (first letter of first name + full last name + last four digits of their student I.D. number.) The default password for your student is: Pps###### (with the # representing the 6 digits of your student’s I.D.)
If your student is unable to change their passwords at home, the da Vinci library staff can help them. Here is more information on student account information https://www.pps.net/Page/1910

Student Accounts Information. Update for the 2018-2019 School Year. PPS student accounts are automatically created once the student is enrolled in Synergy, and provide access to the PPS network, Google Apps for Education, StudentVUE, Destiny library system, file storage and other services.

Drinking water update Now that most all our drinking fountains are back in order, the district will no longer be supplying cups and water bottles. It is helpful for students to have a fillable, non-breakable bottle so they do not need to make frequent out-of-class trips to get a drink.
Traffic flow and parking request If you are using the lot behind the building for parking or drop off, please enter from 24th Ave. at Davis and exit only from the drive onto Everett, then take a right. If you are waiting in front (especially after play practice in the evening), turn off your car and do not let the engine idle.
Girls Inc., Girls Self Defense Workshop, October 18 This FREE, PTSA-sponsored event, is open to all da Vinci girls (including all female-identifying students), as well as those at neighboring middle school and high schools as space allows. Spots are filling so please get your application in if you are interested. Registration forms are in the office.
Facebook Discussion Group Have questions for other families or what to share information? This Facebook page is for current da Vinci family members. It is a closed group so please let us know who your student is to join. Remember our school motto of “Safe, Fair and Friendly” applies to all of us, online and at school. There are parent moderators. This is not an “official” school site but available and encouraged for two-way communication among our community.
Chinook Books benefit the PTSA Books and the mobile app are now available in the office. Books are $25 and the app is $15. You can now order the mobile app online and the PTSA earns 60% until October 15th. You’ll save all year at local, sustainable places you love such as Salt and Straw, Laughing Planet, Hot Lips Pizza, Grand Central Bakery and more. The SafeOregon Tipline aims to increase student safety

SafeOregon was funded by the Oregon Legislature as part of a statewide effort to improve school safety. It provides a secure means for anyone to anonymously report suspicious or imminently unsafe situations, such as threats of violence, fights, drugs and alcohol, weapons, bullying, harassment, intimidation or self-harm.

Anyone, from students to parents to community members, can access the system in a variety of ways, including:
  • The “Report unsafe behavior” button found on every PPS school’s website
  • A live call/text (844-472-3367)
  • An email to tip@safeoregon.com
  • The mobile app that can be downloaded from your Smart Phone via iTunes or  Google Play
Trained staff are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to respond.
