The Winter Music Concert is Thursday, December 13th at 7:00 pm
Performing will be Beginning and Advanced Band, Choir, Jazz Ensemble, Trogdor and African Drumming. Note that students from first-quarter term Drumming class will be performing. All are welcome to attend. Admission is a suggested $5 at the door and all donations are welcome. Unless students are accompanied by adults, we ask that they do not sit in the balcony.

Volunteers are also needed! Please sign up if you can help out on Signup Genius. House volunteers can watch the show after helping with the door or concessions. It is great to have adults who do not have students in the show help out so that those who do can enjoy the show.

Thank you to these wonderful volunteers for working at the PTA Clothing Center this week and representing da Vinci: Berglind Erlingsdóttir Tiffany Dempsey, Mary Senatori and Monica Weinger.

Empathy Club’s Help Drive for Portland Homeless Families Solutions. Please donate if you can! The drive will run through Thursday. Many items on the list can be gently used. Bedding, warm clothing and toiletry items are all needed and appreciated. A collection bin is located in the front hall.

Card sets, ornaments, and merchandise for sale benefitting the PTSA and Visual Arts Departments. In case you missed them at the Arts Fair, we have some student-designed cards and laser cut ornaments still available for sale in the office. This is a great opportunity for some fun holiday shopping AND a nice way to support da Vinci! Ornaments are $7 for a single ornament and $36 for all 6 ornaments. Sets of cards are $18/pack. Items will be for sale before the Music Concert on Thursday.

Locker Cleanout Friday We will add time to the Friday schedule for students to pack up belongings in their lockers. Please encourage your students to bring home dance clothes, extra jackets, old work, food containers, extra lunch boxes, etc. Family adults are more than welcome to come in and help take things home and check out the lost and found that has a large collection of water bottles and assorted items. In the office, we have a surprising assortment of eyeglasses, padlocks, and keys. We also have a backpack with clothing that has gone unclaimed for over a week.

Girls Inc. starting two new groups:
Girls Inc. In Our Own Hands, leadership and community activism group, where girls brainstorm, collaborate and learn the skills to create the changes they want to see in the world. This group will meet on Mondays, 3:30-5 pm, starting January 14. Register online.

Girls Inc. CommuniCare, a fundraising and grant-giving group facilitated by Girls Inc and supported by the Harold & Arlene Schnitzer CARE Foundation, which has granted over $1,250,000 to over 300 local nonprofits and schools over the past twenty years. da Vinci’s CommuniCare will meet Wednesdays 4-5:30, starting January 16.

After School Reminder Please help make arrangements for your student to leave campus after the school day ends. Unless they are in a supervised club or rehearsal, students should not be hanging out on school grounds.
