period only. Lists will be posted outside the office and the cafeteria doors
with the new classes. Please use the quarter mark and day off for students for
a check-up with your child. Take a look at Parentvue/Studentvue together.
Suggest or help them to clean out their binders and get organized for a new
start on Tuesday. Make sure they have the supplies they need. We do have many
supplies in the office if you need assistance, but it is very helpful when
students show up to class prepared and on time.
Lost and Found in the Cafeteria is piling up. Are you wondering where the lunch box, water bottle and 3 hoodies that you started out the school year with went? They’re probably in the lost and found. Please come in and take a look or insist your student go look
for their things. We will need to move all this out before the Arts Fair set up and unclaimed items will get donated.
Halloween is Wednesday. Students are
allowed to wear costumes to school but please, no weapons or weapon-like
objects or images. Please refrain from costumes that are violent or gory, and
those that will interfere with being present and functioning in class. Students
will need to dress down for dance and dance as PE class. There is a special
schedule for a talent show at the end of the day. If you need to pick up your
student early, please make arrangements early because we cannot easily pull
them from the auditorium in the last hour of the day. Apologies in advance for
the auto-dialer calls that get triggered on dance as PE Wednesdays, especially
when we have special schedules. The calls are triggered before we can reconcile
the attendance and correct the absent marks. It is an imperfect system and we
are looking for solutions.

Does your child play a string instrument? Looking for members for
a Chamber music ensemble after school. From a da Vinci parent: Ellis (6th grader) plays the violin and needs to be playing with a group of kids (for the fun, learning, etc.). Does your child play the violin, viola, cello, or bass and have an interest in playing with other da Vinci
students once a week after school? A violinist friend has generously agreed to
mentor a group to get them started. Please respond to me, Katherine Deumling (kdeumling@gmail.com) if you’re interested.
Attendance Reminder If your student will be arriving late or be absent for any reason, please email sbryan@pps.net or call the main office number, 503-916-5356. Let us know the student’s name and the reason for the absence.
