Quarter 3 Starts This Week
Term 3 explore classes will start on Tuesday, January 30. Class lists are posted in the hall by the office and by the cafeteria, or you can see the class listed in ParentVue/StudentVue. While looking at ParentVue, be sure your address listed is accurate. Look at the “My Account” tab. Report cards will be mailed out, so make sure we have your current address. If you need any help gaining access or using ParentVue, please contact the office 503-916-5356 or email Sheli.

Annual Oregon State Testing Reminder.
We sent state testing notification materials to all families at the beginning of the year and again just before Winter Break (also lots of info on our website which includes links to practice tests for families.) So here’s one more quick reminder that we are hoping to receive any state testing exemption opt-out forms as soon as possible in our Main Office - the district recommendation is by Feb 1. It’s super helpful to have all information properly organized and processed before testing begins, and multiple steps are involved for each form. We have forms available in the office, and they are also available online for printing on the PPS webpage. We have been reminded of ODE’s 95% student participation target for school accountability measures, but do not yet know whether ODE will be reinstituting the School Report Card Level-drop penalty for schools that do not meet the target this year.

High School Forecasting Update from Counselor Katie
The following high schools have already passed out forecasting and your student should have turned it in. If they still have their forecasting sheet, get it to Katie the Counselor ASAP!

Franklin HS
Grant HS
Roosevelt HS (due Friday 2/2)
Lincoln HS

Upcoming forecasting sessions at da Vinci during the school day:

Madison HS - February 8th
Cleveland HS - March 5th

If your student has accepted a placement at Benson HS, MLC or Jefferson HS through the lottery and will not be attending their neighborhood high school, please have them tell Katie the Counselor so we can update our lists.

If your student will attend Franklin High School, please note the letter that accompanies the forecasting form explaining the address verification requirement. You will not be able to submit forecasting without address verification.

Admissions and Lottery Information
The lottery to apply to da Vinci for the 18-19 school year opens on February 7 and closes March 2 at 5 pm. The information session dates are listed in the calendar highlights above and on our website. Every applicant must attend an information session and enter the lottery, even if you have a student currently at da Vinci. If you know of students who would be interested in attending da Vinci, please invite them to attend a session and learn more about the application process. We have current students help out during these sessions and lead tours. If your student is interested, have them pick up a form from Sheli in the office. We especially need helpers for the Open House on February 13 after school.

Immunization Exclusion Reminder
February 21st is Oregon's immunization exclusion date. If your child's immunization record is incomplete, you should have received a letter stating what is missing. Please schedule an appointment and make sure immunizations are current, then provide the school with this information before February 21st in order for your child to remain in school. If you have any questions or plan to seek a waiver, please call our school nurse to make sure documents are in order. Call the main office at 503-916-5356 and you can be transferred to our nursing staff.

The da Vinci Auction Committee Needs YOU!
The auction committee needs your help to follow up with potential donors! Local businesses get literally hundreds of requests for donation so following up either via phone or, more often, via email can make the difference between us getting a donation or not! Donating 60 minutes of time to follow-ups could help us exceed our goal of over $10,000 in procurement value! Please sign up.
