See the links on the da Vinci website to purchase tickets in advance or get them at the door. We do still need some volunteer slots filled for the shows to run smoothly.  Volunteers can see another show for free if they work through one. Please sign up using this SignUpGenius site.

Alumni Night for John Hughes High is Thursday, 11/15. Alumni are encouraged to attend the Thursday show and as an incentive, there will be a drawing for tickets from Artists Rep, Third Rail, Shaking the Tree and Portland Center Stage. All former students are eligible with the purchase of a $10 ticket. No other tickets will be sold or given away.

Da Vinci Family-Teacher Conferences, November 19 and 20 Conference days are November 19th and 20th from 8 am to 8 pm. The Signup is live. Students do generally attend conferences with the parent/guardian. Teachers meet with year-long students only. If your student is taking term explore classes, please do not sign up for those teachers. There are two locations for Dance conferences and between the three teachers, they will cover the appointments. You cannot sign up with a specific dance teacher so just find a time that works on either the “Gym” or “Dance Office” tab. Part-time teachers are only at school for part of the times, proportionate to their FTE. Ms. Young and Ms. O’Leary will only be available on Monday, the 19th. Make sure you are in the correct teacher’s tab and note the date and time you are signing up for. If your plans change, be sure to delete your time so another person has a chance to take the slot. Conference Sign Up.
Conference slots available with Alison Lanigan, Instructional Specialist This year, two of our teachers are scheduled for several periods a day as Instructional Specialists, providing extra attention to students who need academic support. In addition to meeting with her students in year-long Creative Writing, Ms. Lanigan is offering time slots for families who need more information on how to support student success. These times are especially for those unable to get a slot with the students’ teachers and those whose students are struggling. If you need help to navigate teacher websites, Parentvue/Studentvue or  Google apps, sign up for a slot with Ms. Lanigan!

Conference Sustenance for Teachers While our teachers put in two long days to meet with families, they very much appreciate nourishment provided when they take their breaks. We’d love to have some morning treats and afternoon soup available each day. Please sign up here if you can contribute.

Run for the Arts Thank you! Thanks to everyone who participated in the Run for the Arts fundraiser. We raised $14,283! Additional thanks to Julie Young and Sarah Reese for help with the accounting.

OBOB Update from Ms. Robertson Teams are forming and there is still room to register if your student is interested in the Oregon Battle of the Books. Information can be found in the library next to the OBOB books. Registration deadline is November 30th!   Want to know more? Visit the da Vinci OBOB webpage or email Ms. Robertson,  srobertson@pps.net

Lost and Found in the Cafeteria is piling up. PLEASE, come in and take a look for things that belong to your kids. We have a mountain of clothing and unclaimed items. We will need to move all this out before the Arts Fair set up and remaining items will get donated.

Arts Fair! Posters, cards and lawn signs are now available to help promote the event. Come by the office and pick some up if you can help out. The team is recruiting volunteers for the days of the event now also. Sign up here to help with set up or the event on December 1.

PPS High School Information for information about all PPS high schools, see Katie the Counselor’s website.

Franklin Open House for 8th-graders Students living in the Franklin boundary area are invited to their open house on Wednesday, November 28th from 6 pm to 8 pm. This is a great opportunity to get a tour of the beautiful new Franklin facilities and learn more about their program.
