Auction Volunteers- HELP!
There are still a few volunteer needs so that our Auction night will run smoothly. Take a look at the signup and take a job if you can help.

White Bird 18th Annual Free Field Trip
On April 25th, all students will be attending the Alvin Ailey dance performance at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. Permission forms will be sent home the week of April 9th. Please sign and return the forms ASAP to 3rd-period teachers. The trip is generously sponsored by White Bird.

Clothing Center Volunteers Needed for April 26
It’s true- we have a lot of volunteer needs in April. Just twice a year we are asked to send 4-6 volunteers to staff the PTA Clothing Center, located at the Grant (Marshall) HS Campus. The Clothing Center provides assistance to thousands of PPS students each year through this resource. It is entirely run by volunteers and donations from the community. They are open each Monday and Thursday from 10 am to 1 pm. It is a truly rewarding volunteer experience. Let Sheli know if you can help out. More information about the center is on their website.

The da Vinci Spring Dance Concert is April 27 at 7 pm and April 28, 3 pm and 7 pm Tickets are on Sale now
All seats for the three shows are general admission, $10 and pre-purchase is recommended as these shows do sell out. Please print and save your receipt to serve as your ticket at the door. Purchase now on Arts People.

Volunteers Needed for the Dance Concert!
There are still many open spots on the volunteer signup. This show requires a lot of family support to supervise the large group of students and run the front of the house. Please check out the signup and commit to taking a shift.

HEART of Portland Showcase
Congratulations to Celeste Johnson and Calub Washington, who will have visual art represented and our da Vinci Dance students in levels 3 and 4, who will be performing. The public is invited to this PPS arts education celebratory event to launch the fourth annual The HEART of Portland: A Portland Public Schools K-12 Arts Showcase on Wednesday, April 11th at the Portland Art Museum. As a thank you to taxpayers for their support of the Arts Tax, this year’s event will open with a reception featuring a robust, district-wide visual arts exhibit and student performances. The event is free and open to the public.

The SafeOregon Tip Line Aims to Increase Student Safety
In keeping with our commitment to student safety, last October PPS joined school districts across the state in using the SafeOregon Tip Line. We want to remind you about this important resource.
SafeOregon was funded by the Oregon Legislature as part of a statewide effort to improve school safety. It provides a secure means for anyone to anonymously report suspicious or imminently unsafe situations, such as threats of violence, fights, drugs and alcohol, weapons, bullying, harassment, intimidation or self-harm.
Anyone, from students to parents to community members, can access the system in a variety of ways, including:

  • The “Report unsafe behavior” button found on every PPS school’s website
  • The SafeOregon website
  • A live call/text (844-472-3367)
  • An email to tip@safeoregon.com
  • The mobile app that can be downloaded from your Smart Phone via iTunes or Google Play
  • Trained staff are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to respond.

Please be sure to share this information with your friends and family. Remind your students: If you see or hear something, say something – immediately.  Let’s work together to keep our community safe.
